Day 7

God Can Do It (Zephaniah 3:17)

I’m from the old hymn singing church. Can I get a witness? There was one hymn they’d sing entitled, “Jesus is mighty to save.” It went like this:

Jesus is mighty to save

Jesus has conquered death, Hell, and the grave

Jesus gives victory to all who believe

Jesus is mighty to save!

We’d have quite the time singing those old lyrics. The ladies would sing out the verse whilst all the men echoed in their baritone voices. I can still hear them ya know—Jesus is mighty to save. Mighty to save.

Zephaniah translates the heart of God for the Children of Israel well in the 3rd chapter reminding them that God is the one who is mighty to save.

We’ve captured fasting as a response to what is going on in our hearts. And some of you are carrying burdens in your hearts. There is trouble afoot. There is fear. There is uncertainty. There is loss. But the Lord our God is a strong tower. And He is mighty to save. As you draw near to Jesus amidst this time of prayer and fasting may those proverbial Red Seas in your life’s situations be parted. May the brokenness that has set root in your life be uprooted and replaced with the healing balms of the Spirit. May what has gone crooked be made straight again. He is mighty — yes Mighty to save!

Hallelujah! (ps…keep going! One week down - 2 more to go!)
